Poetry Moves on Transit Submissions Open

Date: 12th October 2018

The Edmonton Poetry Festival is looking for poems to travel on the city’s buses this winter.

In this round of Poetry Moves, the Edmonton Poetry Festival is asking for your poems about any theme or topic. What moves you to write? What do you want to share with the city? Any free-verse or rhyme you can riff, they want to receive!

Four poems will be chosen from the submissions. The contest closes October 19th.

 Poems should be:

  • A maximum of ten lines and ten words per line, including stanza breaks (remember, space on the bus posters is limited)
  • In any form
  • Submit a maximum of 3 poems
  • Your own work. (Previously published poems are accepted)
  • Poems are judged blind by a jury. Include your name in the email – NOT on the poem document.

Winners will receive an honorarium of $100 and a copy of the poster on which their poem appears. Poems ride City of Edmonton buses for 8-12 weeks. The Edmonton Poetry Festival runs Poetry Moves on Transit program with support from the Edmonton Arts Council.
