This is subject to broad interpretation but examples would be stories about British Columbia’s cultural and economic scene; stories about interesting residents; or stories told from a distinctly British Columbian perspective.
Saskatchewan Story
This category is open to magazines with a head office in Saskatchewan, and includes articles with a distinctly Saskatchewan subject, flavour and flair. This is subject to broad interpretation but examples would be stories about Saskatchewan’s cultural and economic scene; stories about interesting residents; or stories told from a distinctly Saskatchewan perspective.
Manitoba Story
This category is open to magazines with a head office in Manitoba, and includes articles with a distinctly Manitoba subject, flavour and flair. This is subject to broad interpretation but examples would be stories about Manitoba’s cultural and economic scene; stories about interesting residents; or stories told from a distinctly Manitoban perspective.
Achievement Category
Magazine of the Year
Magazine of the Year will be awarded to a magazine in each province (British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba) that consistently engages and serves the needs of its readers.
- To qualify, the publication must have a head office in either British Columbia, Saskatchewan or Manitoba
- The nomination form requires information about: the magazine (including the editorial mandate, audience, staff positions, frequency, circulation and distribution); and a summary of the magazine’s achievements during the past year.
- Nominations require four copies of two issues published in 2020 (or appropriate links to online magazines) that demonstrate the publication’s best work mailed to the AMPA office at King Edward cSPACE #390, 1721 29 Avenue SW. Calgary, AB T2T 6T7 by Jan. 31, 2021
